Get started
Create a token
Section titled “Create a token”Open Sentinet, then Settings → API → Create token. Give the token a name for its job, such as “Research script”, choose an expiry, and select only the resources your integration needs. For the quote example, keep Market → Read.
Copy the token immediately: its secret is shown once. You can revoke it at any time. API access depends on your plan; the app shows whether it is available to your account.
Keep the credential outside your code
Section titled “Keep the credential outside your code”Set SENTINET_TOKEN in your program’s environment or secret manager. Do not commit it,
put it in a URL, or embed it in a client application distributed to other people.
Request a quote
Section titled “Request a quote”curl --fail-with-body 'https://api.sentinetapp.com/api/v1/ticker/AAPL/quote' \ --header "Authorization: Bearer $SENTINET_TOKEN"A successful read returns HTTP 200 and a JSON response. Data availability and delay depend
on the instrument and your plan. Use the response’s timestamps when assessing freshness.
Inspect what happened
Section titled “Inspect what happened”Open the API reference to edit and send requests and inspect their responses. Your usage chart and request log are in Sentinet → Settings → API. The reference sends the request using the personal token you provide. An existing token’s secret cannot be recovered: use your saved secret or create a new token.
Continue with REST examples or connect an MCP client.
